it's really interesting how God makes things occur. as in, events in your life. the way they come and go. it's really, really interesting. and it just struck me again.

today, pastor just preached on the 'foolishness of God', taken from 1 Corinthians 1:18-25. you might wonder, what sane person would preach about the foolishness of God. like, hello? hahas. but! just this very evening, as i'm typing my entry, i'm talking to a fellow vjcian, who questions the origin of religion, and how we christians know that God exists. after all, none of us has seen Him, nor heard His voice, even though we speak to Him, and He speaks to us. we can't record His voice down, nor is it audible in the usual conversations humans hold. but how do we know He exists?

simply because we believe in Him, all that He has done, all that He is doing, and all that He will continue to do! personally, though, God has done miracles in my family, time and again, blessed us, protected us. just this recent incident goes to show of His love and care! and perhaps, that is why i don't question His existence, though i did once or twice when i was a little girl. very young.

1 Corinthians 1:18-25
'18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written:"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." 20Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22For the Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.'

many now might ask who God is and how we know He exists because we have never seen Him. they might ask for evidence, recordings of conversations with God, or simply, how do we know that He created the world [refer to the Big Bang theory which i really think that without any particles there wouldn't be anything to big bang with. and hence the question: who created the particles? haha]. and to this, i marvel, simply because, "it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe". even till today, from the time that the Bible was written, in the Old Testament to the New, people are still looking for "signs" and "wisdom". yes, human nature never changes, despite all our technological advances. and to this, today's message said that the Jews requested a sign, yet they rejected the cross - the sign given to them by God.

and throughout all of these, i still marvel. yes, how great and mighty is the Lord our God!

my sister wrote tt. how true! praise Him!(:
